Nrityabhash, Academy of Performing Arts…………… An outline
Nirtyabhas, an academy at performing arts (affiliated to Bangiya Sangeet parisad & Indian National forum at art & Culture) was started in a small way with few students by Smt. Sanchaita Munshi (Saha) in Kolkata in May 2005. The aim of this institution is to instill an awareness at our rich Indian heritage of arts & culture in all those who pass through its portals under the traditional custom of the Guru- Sisya Parampara.
Bharatnatyam (the south Indian style of classical dance) & Odissi (the classical dance form of Orissa) & yoga form the nucleus of this institution. In addition to the practical aspects of dance and music, Nattuvangam (conducting a recital), theory, the study of choreography including stagecraft, dress and make-up lighting, teaching methodology, philosophy of dance movement and music are stressed upon. Nrityabhash is known for its dance-dramas, dance-theatre productions and group presentations performed on major occasions in India and abroad. Thus the upcoming students of all ages are provided with promising opportunities to co-perform with Sanchita Munshi in her different productions on reputed platforms.
Students have also received the National Scholarship and CCRT Junior Scholarship. Subrata Bhattacharjee and Ashish Ghosh receive National Scholarship in the field of Bharatnatyam from the Ministry of Tourism & Culture Govt. Of India in 2017 & 2017. Jit Mondal & Saradiya Konar received CCRT Junior Scholarship in the field of Bharatnatyam from Govt. Of India in 2015 & 2016. Many students also received State and District awards. Students of Nrityabhash Pitti Pal and Sreejee Munshi both Received 1st position Award in International Music and Dance Festival at Kolkata and Thailand Org. By Hamas with Collaboration Govt. India.
